The Railway is a decent pub. London Pride etc.

Other side of the station to the OS, so may be quieter and where I shall drink.

Thank you so much

Newham is a Islamic state

They will move onto another area and so on until our people have been run out and our culture is killed

You fuckers can stay well away from King Eddies. Thats my current pre match pub and its quite pleasant at the moment. We don't need a load of jonny- come- latelys, ta very much

Loads of pubs in Clerkenwell, Farringdon and a few new Craft ones are opening up in Islington

Re: The Central..... Closing down
Always been a shithole. Makes me laugh Essex boys like Cromwell talking blx about the area again and decrying the loss of a pub with a racial slur that was in fact run for years by 2 wide boys from Ilford of Sri Lankan descent (i.e., you ignorant twat they were in fact English from parents who emigrated here from Sri Lanka). What more can you expect from someone named after a web footed fen dweller? As people have already said plenty of decent boozers in Newham.

Re: The Central..... Closing down
Wouldn't it be great if a microbrewery took over the building that was the old Two Puddings in Stratford and re-opened a pub there for the matchday fans...It still exists

Any City Boys on here who would like to investigate the idea and take a punt? :-)

Stayed at the Central a few times. Seemed to be more of a hostel for travellers. Probably the way forward... for travellers who have low expectations of life in London.

Re: The Central..... Closing down
There are some great boozers in Stratford. Definitely much better choices.

The KING EDDIE, for a start, is a fantastic boozer - will be rammed in there though.

Re: The Central..... Closing down
As gank says big old Boozer..but shithole.
Only been in handful of times in yrs...and then only off my nut..
Why it makes me smile when the Mancs think they take the piss at ours by taking over the likes of Central and Denmark.

Re: The Central..... Closing down
Won't be missed - shithole, as is the Boleyn and the Queens.

Plenty of pubs in Stratford, all of Newham is NOT publess and never will be.

SOH,
Read what I wrote.

Re: The Central..... Closing down
The actual building is enormous, and given where it is, that will sell for a lot of money. Enough to buy a smaller club in Stratford, you would think.

Side of Ham

Good, just checking :-)

The main reason the vast majority of Pubs are closing is The Great British PubCo Scam. The main 6 pub companies are asset-strippers who make it impossible for a leesee to turn a profit by overcharging on rent and obliging them to source their alcohol through them at an inflated price.

In addition to this they don't spend any money on maintaining the fabric of the building either.

Legislation is coming in to change this but they have been delaying it for 12 years
